A welcome from our Head Teacher, Mrs Sargent
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am Susie Sargent, and I am proud and privileged to be the Head Teacher of both Crofton Infant and Crofton Junior School. Many of our children will have been at Crofton Infant School and I am very pleased that you have chosen to move up to the Juniors. If you are new to the school, I am delighted to welcome you and look forward to a long and successful relationship.
Crofton is a very large, six form entry school, and part of the very successful Connect School Academy Trust. Our role at the Junior School is 720, but despite our size, Crofton remains a very friendly school with a strong community feel.
Both Crofton schools have a wealth of expertise and are very well-equipped with excellent resources. Our highly motivated staff have worked on a exciting and relevant curriculum for the children and are committed to using a variety of technology to enhance this.
We are very lucky to have such large, green sites in an urban area, and the children have lots of space to play and to investigate our Forest School which helps children to develop a new found confidence which they can take into all areas of their lives.
We have a very active parents’ association, the PTA, and they work very hard organising events for both the children and parents which raise much appreciated additional funds for the school. New members are always very warmly welcomed, so please do think about getting volunteering – it’s a great way to really become involved in the life of the school.
At Crofton, we welcome parents to work with us to promote the high standards which we expect from the children. Thank you for choosing to send your child to Crofton. There is so much more that I could share with you about life at Crofton, but what better way to learn about the schools but from the children themselves! We made this video during lockdown so that children coming up from Year 2 could see the Junior school, and I think it gives a great introduction to the school.
